How To Get Rid Of Red Marks On Face From Acne?

Question: I just suffered from what I think was a pimple, was worried it might be a cold sore.

I didn't want to give it to someone so I abstained from sex until it was gone. The pimple or cold sore has since gone away, but left a red mark kind of like the marks I get from acne on my face. It's taking forever to go away and I was worried it might never go away like the red marks on my face from acne have never gone away. If it leaves a red mark is it definitely not cold sore/herpes? Can I feel safe to have sex?

I have been tested for herpes before and the tests came out negative, but I thought I would try and be safe.

Thanks for the query.
Herpes presents with superficial water filled lesions which rupture soon and don't leave any scar.
Probably it was acne and not herpes.
Please upload a photograph of the involved area.

Here is the picture you asked for. Sorry my camera is not very good, it may not be a very clear picture for you.

So just in case let's say it was a scar from herpes, is the scar infectious?

It is not herpes, it's simple acne with mild scars.
Apply clindamycin gel twice daily for a week you will get good relief.
