Posted on Fri, 18 Sep 2015
Question: Hello, I am 30 years old and trying to conceive. In july i checked my thyroid levels and TSH was 3.58.. Doctor asked to take Thyroxine 25 mg everyday for 30 days. After 30 days when i asked doctor she said continue with medicine for another 30 days and we will check it after next 30 days. Also having clomid 100 cycle and follical study. This month follical measured around 13mm on day 10th and 12th(no change on Day 12) . Dr said we will do U/S on day 14 again. Is it because of thyroid ? Should i have checked it after first 30 days ? In how many days one should check Thyroid levels? what are ideal thyroid levels for conception?

Brief Answer:
Not because of thyroid

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your health concern and anxiety related to it.
Repeat thyroid level testing needs to be done after 6 weeks ideally and ideal levels are less than 2.5.
So don't worry about that as you will be fine soon and the delay in growth of the follicle is not because of thyroid hormone levels.
Repeat scan will give us the maximum information.
So wait for the next scan and keep taking your medicine as advised.
All the best.
