Pericoronitis is due to inflammation and infection due to impacted tooth or overgrowth of the gums.
Z pak is an antibiotic Azithromycin which may be effective in controlling the infection but will not remove the cause of the problem.
It is better to see a dentist and treat the cause in addition.
