Question: Hi I recently had a stillbirth at 5 months pregnant. After which I was given a lot of antibiotics and pain meds about two weeks in I noticed a moveable lump in the floor of my mouth on the right side . Then 3 to 4 days later my tongue had a white covering on it and the gland inside my mouth also on the right side looks like a little flap is also swollen. Then I caught a cold more like a sinus cold or something. My wisdom teeth are impacted and needed removing a while ago not sure if that's what causing my right ear pain and just a little neck stiffness. Oh and my ob/gun put me on antifungal by mouth and oral suspension for 7 days thinking I have thrush but it really hasn't done much for my tongue please help me..im going to dentist tomorrow.

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. White coated tongue with history of cold and flu is likely a fungal oral infection. Apart from it, if you have a poor oral hygiene improve it, if you use tobacco or alcohol, avoid it, If you are a mouth breather reduce it and use your nostrils for it, avoid low roughage diet like mashed foods and soft foods too much etc. Also impacted tooth is associated with the neck stiffness and ear pain as the pain radiates normally to these places and its rough dges cana lso contribute to the whiteness coat of the tongue. Your doctor wisely suggested some oral antifungal gels . Add garlic water mouth rinses to it, frequent brushing and flossing and tongue scraping gently with back of the brush. Get the wisdom teeth out if they are impacted and painful.

Wait and see till you see the dentist , they will have a look and manage accordingly. I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
