Can Monocef-200 Be Taken During 2nd Month Of Pregnancy?

Question: Hi sir,

Taking antibiotic monocef-0* 200 is safty during 2nd month of pregnency. My doctor sugested me to take 4 days this tablet and also given citralka syrup.so am confused whether to take antibiotic or not as am feeling it may harm growth of baby.please suggest me

ANtibiotics are best avoided in the first trimester of pregnancy, but , if you are having a proper indication, Monocef is comparatively safe to use.
Why have you been prescribed this antibiotic ?
Only if its use is justified, then you may take it.

Hi madam thank you for your answe.

As i got urine infection doctor suggested for antibiotic. I have completed 2 months yesterday only. When doing urine test they return urine type acidic in that.

Also, please get a urine culture done.
That will tell you what type of organism is causing the infection.
Also, it will tell you what particular antibiotic is needed.
Do not take antibiotics without a proper urine culture test.
