Can Eltroxin-25 Be Taken During The 2nd Trimester Of Pregnancy?

Question: My wife is in 2nd trimester of pregnancy. As per the blood and Urine test , the doctor had advised to take eltroxin 25 once daily.

Is it okay to take it during pregnancy as her tsh levels are already above normal.

please advise.

Your wife is having high TSH means she has less thyroid. That is the reason your doctor have prescribed the Eltroxin. Very essential to maintain the hormone levels in pregnancy.

All the reports seems to be normal except TSH increase.

As i said earlier increased TSH means low thyroid levels. so it is very important for your wife to start on Thyroid supplements like Eltroxin.
