Brief Answer:
Above medicines are not the cause. Wait 4-5 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for writing to us. I understand your concern.

1) In this case, underlying causes of late period are hormonal imbalance, mental stress (greater impact on period), emotional upset, weight gain or sudden loss etc. Above prescribed medicines are NOT responsible for delayed period.

2) As all available test reports are NORMAL, I can suggest you to await another 3 to 4 days to get period naturally. Take healthy diet with IRON supplements.

In the mean time, you can do meditation regularly 2 to 3 times for 15-20 min. Walking for 1/2 hrs, making some outside holiday, listening music or watching movies, get together with friends etc will help to release stress or anxiety.

3) If you don't get period within this time, one pelvic ultrasound scan and complete hormone profile (LH/FSH, estrogen, progesterone, prolactin etc) may be needed to confirm the diagnosis. Progesterone pill should be given to induce period. In that case, you should consult with your treating gynecologist.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.

Brief Answer:
Stress can cause late period and hormonal imbalance.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for your follow up query.

1) Yes, mental stress or anxiety has great impact on menstrual cycle and they can cause late period to some extent. If you can relax more or be stress free, you can expect your period within few days. Follow above mentioned things.

2) Yes, stress can cause hormonal imbalance or irregular cycle by alteration of Hypothalamus -Pituitary- Ovarian Axis. If you can lessen or reduce your mental stress, then you can make your cycle more regular if you don't have any other pelvic pathology like poly cystic ovary etc.

Hope, it helps for your information. Good luck and take care.

Brief Answer:
Premenstrual symptoms. Be stress free.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for your query.

1) Yes, above features are mostly suggestive of premenstrual symptoms and it indicates that you will get your natural period shortly.

2) Yes, stress or anxiety can alter hormone level temporarily. If you can reduce your mental stress or anxiety, then most of the hormones will be normal as usual if there is no underlying pelvic pathology.

Hope, I help to clear your all doubts. Good luck and stay healthy. Ask more questions if you need to know anything. I have given the link previously.

Hello
Can I Take Iron Tablet named Orofer XT to make late periods come? or will taking Iron Tablet further delay periods? is it safe to take?

One more question..I also had tested my blood a lot for full blood test, thyroid etc a few times last month and all was normal
My mother is saying drawing too much blood for tests might have decreased haemoglobin levels
Is that possible? If so will that delay periods?

Answered by Dr. Dr. Soumen Patra (3 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Iron tab or drawing blood for test doesn't delay your period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for your follow up query.

1) Iron rich foods are sufficient to increase your body iron store. However, you can take Orofer XT tab once daily. It is quite safe and doesn't delay your period.

2) No, it is not true. Drawing blood for repeated time DOESN'T decrease hemoglobin level. Blood cells are produced regularly and they will maintain normal physiology. It also DOESN'T delay your period.

Hope, I have cleared your doubts. Good luck and take care.
