Question: Hi Doctor,
I am 36+4 weeks pregnant as of date and this is my first delivery.
Can you help me identify when I should make way to the hospital as I could feel light contractions in lower abdomen lasting a minute and then subsiding yesterday.
Thanks in advance,

Hi

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..

Congratulations on your pregnancy and a happy motherhood..

Labour Pain starts as contraction mainly in the upper abdomen with pain.. If it is a painless contraction lasting for less than a minute it is braxon XXXXXXX contraction and no need to worry.. It is normal..

Since you have a lower abdominal discomfort, it is unlikely to be labour pain.. Get a urine routine to detect urinary infection which is common in pregnancy and get treated if there is an infection..

Hope i have answered your query.. feel free to ask any doubts.. good day..
