Are Irregular Periods And Abnormal Vaginal Discharge Normal After Stopping Contraceptives?
Question: Hi, I had been on the pill for about one year and 6-7 months, I have been recently off the pill for about 2 and a bit months. I have noticed irregular periods and abnormal discharge. Is what I am experiencing normal?!

The irregular periods after stopping the pills can be due to a mild hormonal disturbance caused by the pill withdrawal. This is not worrisome. Your periods will return to normal in next few cycles. The mild discharge is not worrisome if it is not smelly or associated with itching. In case the discharge is heavy then do get a vaginal swab culture done to rule out the infection.
