Dear
Thanks for contacting with your health concern and after reviewing the case history and answer given by Dr. Diptanshu and opinion of Pediatrician, I'm of the following statement:

1. As already said that pus is yet to formed thus abscess is not there and no role of surgeon is yet required, and as the area is red [inflamed], thus releasing the pus from a boil [at home] can lead to more infection and although applying belladona plaster will work as a weapon to release pus but make sure to sterilize the surrounding area carefully and wash hands after touching the area.

2. Boil developing in a child should be seen by a Doctor.

Thanks for considering history...
I have applied Belladonna and now expect pus to be released with surgical intervention. I am planning to wait till tomorrow before taking any action.
Personal observation is that after applying plaster yesterday he looks better though we are yet to see any change on condition of abscess.
Do you think Belladonna is better option that Su-Mag?

Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. Here I use belladonna plaster containing 0.25% of belladonna extract in plaster mass Q.S. [quantity sufficient] to 100% and can be applied in children whereas one belladonna plaster has atropine/belladonna alkaloids, lanolin, natural rubber, partially hydrogenated wood resin, corn starch,kaolin2,5, di- tert- amylhydroquinone as active ingredients and not recommended for children under 10 years. [check the same]

2. Regarding Su-Mag it inhibits bacterial growth and soften the dry/rough skin BUT it is advised to avoid contact with lips/eyes/mucous membrane so once the pus forms and boil ruptures there is no use of continuing with it [as mucous membrane gets exposed], so your attending physician will be in a better position to judge the same.
