HI, These bruises may occur due to trauma to the area or are sometimes related to spontaneous rupture of a superficial vein in the area. It should not affect your capacity to fly. The normal clot prevention procedures would apply- this means that if it is a long flight you should stretch your calf muscles, get up and move around. You may also want to consider compression stockings.
