Hello Thanks for the query Pyelonephritis is basically bacterial infection of the kidneys, it is treated by a nephrologist with IV antibiotics for a minimum of 7 to 15 days based on the severity of the infection and also culture report. Urine culture report tells us which organism is growing and which antibiotic it is sensitive to I hope i was of help Regards
