Hello, common cold causes a runny nose, mild cough and a mildly sore throat. If fever is present, it's low grade only. The flu has a more ominous presentation with sudden onset of very high fever, body aches, headache, cough, sore throat, perhaps diarrhea, and very characteristic fatigue. Most patients complain a lot about fatigue. Sometimes nose symptoms appear (runny/stuffy nose). Kind Regards!

inflective causes, an antibiotic course will help, salt water gargling as home remedy for throat soreness. Good luck.

I appreciate your concern. It's hard to tell whether you have swine flu or seasonal flu, because most symptoms are the same like cough, fever, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, body aches, headache, chills & fatigue People with swine flu may be more likely to feel nauseous and throw up than people who have seasonal flu. But a lab test is the only way to know for sure. Reply with thanks!
