Hi and thanks for the query, It might be important for her to get evaluated preferably by a hematologist. Splenic infarction or infection could be important to be known. An abdominal ultrasound could help. It is important to know if she has sickle cell disease or not. Vaccines like those against Hemophilus influenzae, Meningo A/C and Streptococcus Pneumoniae are advised in splenic dysfunction.
