Thanks for contacting HCM for you medical questions. From your question I gather you have a large scar from recent open heart surgery. you have been using Silicon gel to reduce the scar but it has not helped. You are currently considering Mederma which is an onion extract. Merderma has not shown to reduce scaring so I would not recommend purchasing Merderma.
