Hi there, Thanks for your query. During cold, muscles tend to contract to preserve wastage of body heat. Back muscle, being large, are most prone to contract and go into spasm, causing back ache. Hot compresses and occasional use of muscle relaxant drug will relieve the spasm. Dr. Rakesh Karanwal
