I Have Worn Arch Supports And Now Experiencing Dark Skin On That Area

I have flat feet. I am 46 years old. I have worn arch supports for more than 10 years. Now I have dark skin where the arch supports lift my feet or my arch. I want my skin on my feet to be one color. Again, I am referring 2 the bottom of my feet. Please help me. F.y.i, I am African American.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
A tight garment if worn for long duration can cause pigmentation due to constant friction. If you have to continue wearing arch support then it is difficult to cure the pigmentation. You may apply a cream containing glycolic acid, urea, cetylated fatty acids (For eg: Xerina cream) at night over the dark skin at night before sleeping .
Hope this helped,
Take care.
