What Does Mild Degree Of Bronchovascular Distortion Is Noted In The Right Apex Mean?

We are in South Africa. Our house maid has been diagnosed with TB.My wife and I went for preventitive TB screening. One of the notes made on my resultant X ray was " a mild degree of bronchovascular distortion is noted in the right apex".
Could you explain what this means.
Thank you,
Roger Knapp.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Tuberculosis most commonly affect lungs.
And in lungs upper lobes are more frequently involved.
In Africa, TB is very common. So any upper lobe lung lesion must be evaluated for tuberculosis.
So in my opinion, your wife should undergo sputum examination for AFB.
If sputum production is not there than get done bronchoscopic evaluation and CT thorax to rule out TB.
So my suggestion is to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. Rule out active tuberculosis in your wife.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wishing good health to your wife. Thanks.
