An elderly patient ...about 5 day post op for bladder cancer operation has been admitted to hospital for c diff....He is 83. His sister, 86, is his primary caregiver and unable to take much medication due to her medical issues. Should she be allowed to spend hours , even in isolation, with her brother. At home are 2 other members of the family....a twin brother of the patient with heart condition and other maladies and a 52 year old female who also has a compromised immune system when it comes to antibiotics and other meds. These people are in Toronto and my friend here is very concerned for her family that visits to her uncle are a danger to the household.....She would like to be able to tell her Mom to stay home and call her brother not visit every day for 7-8 hours. Would appreciate your opinion NEVER MIND....THANKS ANYWAY......GOT ANSWER!!!
