Hi Margarita, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
Coumadin is a Warfarin which reduces the activity of Vitamin K which is essential for Blood clotting. I think you have increased blood clotting, this is the reason Coumadin is prescribed. You should be taking no more than 1 servings per day of foods which contain High levels of Vit. K, like Green leafy vegetables which are the best source of Vit.K. Foods that are moderately high should be taken no more than 3 servings per day, like for example, Sprouts, Turnip greens, green leaf lettuce, broccoli. Alcoholic beverages intake should be no more than 2 drinks daily.
Take Coumadin regularly as directed by your Doctor and go for regular follow up and check your INR/PT regularly. Avoid herbal products and dietary supplements that may affect Coumadin and Vitamin K level in your Body.
coumadin is anticougalating drug which act by minimising action of vit. K.
so you should not take such type of food which contain vit.K. eg. spinch. turnip green, garlic, swiss guard, kale.
Also you should avoid alcohal ,smooking, &tobacoo chewing.
