General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Cold sensation in the extremities can be because of anxiety and nervousness. Panic disorder diverts blood to the internal organs thus the patient experiences coldness in the extremities. Help your husband come out of anxiety and stress, help him feel better by helping him do all that he likes or loves to do or eat. Such symptoms can also be due to peripheral neuropathy( damage to the nerves), vitamin B12 deficiencies, megaloblastic anaemia, thyroid imbalances, arteriosclerosis, reynolds phenomenon, etc. I suggest you to give a little time to your husband to relax, observe how it works. Give him vitamin B12 supplements and healthy fresh food. If he is better do not neglect, continue with your care and let him get examined by a neurologist, get all investigations done and get him treated. If he is responding to medicines he may not require another surgery. But this depends upon what his reports say.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
Dr Nupur K
