Would It Be Safe To Stop Clexane Injection For Leg Traction Untill Brace Is Removed?

i have been prescribed clexane because my leg is in traction due to knee injury. i do move around, but can t bend my knee. history of breast cancer and am taking letrozole now. my brace is to be removed one week from now. would it be o.k. to stop injections at this point?

Hi . I would recommend you keep using clexane. Since you are not able to bend your leg, your calf muscles are not being used and this is resulting in stagnation of blood in your leg. This could lead to clot formation. That is why you have been put on clexane. You can only stop using it after your knee traction has been removed, your knee becomes mobile and Ultrasound Doppler confirms that there is no clot in your leg. So, please continue using clexane
