Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
The hearing defect in the family seems to be a genetic defect. I can be transmitted to the offspring as your fiancée may have the carrier gene for the hearing defect. So the possibilities of your child having hearing defect cannot be ruled out. Also there is a possibility that your child may be normal.
Going ahead with the marriage or not is your personal decision which as a medical professional cannot comment on.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
