Will Having Laproscopic Spleenectomy Cause Complications In Future Pregnancy?
Hello, I am scheduled to have a laproscopic spleenectomy within the next month. I am 23 and have no children. I would like to have a second opinion about pregnancy after a splenectomy. what are the chances of my unborn child being affected when I do become pregnant? do I need to be concerned about my newborn having a lower platelet count. also are there really higher chances of becoming sicker and having more complications during pregnancy myself? Whether the new born is going to be affected or not depends upon the cause of your splenomegaly. Through blood investigation and histopathology examination of spleen, your doctors will tell you the future chances of whether it will affect the child or not.
