Would Lupron Temporarily Block Prostate Cancer?

I will be having a biopsy for prostate cancer, but it is likely I have the disease (PSA count of 24 and DRE detection of lump on prostate). I had plans to travel to Kauai in 3 weeks and to be away for a month. My urologist says if I have prostate cancer he can temporarily block it with Lupron so I can travel and have my prostate removed when I get back. I have read about Lupron online and wonder how wise it would be to have the injection, given potential side effects. Also, if the cancer has spread outside the prostate, would the Lupron also block that?
