Will Taking Ovex By A Pregnant Person Harm The Baby?

hello my son has worms ive just give him ovex and also gave it to my husband daughter and i had some my self but i Mayb pregnant we have been tryin but have not done a test as im not due on til Sunday will this affect the baby if i am pregnant i only read it after takin the ovex sayin bout pregnant women not to take it thanks x

Thanks for the query.
Ovex contains mebendazole.
It belongs to category C drugs in pregnancy according to FDA.
Means animal studies have shown possible teratogenic effects on the fetus but sufficient human studies are lacking.
As you have taken single dose, that may not lead to much problems.
If the pregnancy test comes positive, better to continue with regular antenatal checkups and ultrasound examinations.
Ultrasound at 11 weeks and TIFFA scan at 18 to 22 weeks are mandatory to detect any possible anomalies.
According to the scan reports further management can be planned.
