What Should I Do After Taking Ovex During Pregnancy?

Hi there I found out I was pregnant on Sunday, however the Friday before I took an Ovex (threadworm tablet) as my son has them. It is only now that I have noticed that Ovex states that you should not take them when pregnant. I didnt realise I was at the time - should I be concerned? I am 28 years old and have never had any adverse reactions from taking them in the past.

It seems that you are in the first three months of pregnancy. Ovex is not advised to be taken during this period.
Ovex is a medicine with Mebendazole as worm medicine. Though there is no controlled data on the affection of embryo in human beings, it has shown the fetotoxicity and teratogenicity in experimental animals. However, mebendazole has been used during pregnancy without evidence of foetal harm.
Now, please report this incidence to your obstetrician. He/she will consider the matter from all the angles and will advice you regarding the continuation of pregnancy.
