Will My Annual Mammogram Make My Costochondritis Worse?

Will my annual mammogram make my costochonritis worse? For the last 6 months I have been having pain under my right breast around the rib cage, making it unbearable to wear a bra for more than a few hours. Also must add that I just had an endoscopy and was diagnosed with mild gastritis. I do have celiac disease also.

Hello,

Mammography involves manipulation with a probe. The probe can exacerbate costochondritis, however, mammography is not the cause of costochondritis. Pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs will help to resolve the pain associated with costochondritis. Gastritis needs to be managed with proper medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
