Will Chest Pain Go Off If Marijuana Smoking Is Quit?

My query: i smoke a good deal of marijuana, to help with my anxiety - nothing else seems to work. I know i should cut back, but my question is that i ve been coughing up some light-medium grey mucus for about a week, with some mild occasional chest pain (not bad though). I m sure it s affiliated with smoking, but do you think it will go away if i taper off? Will an expectorant help?

Hi,

Cannabis itself is a well-known cause of anxiety disorders. So, I do not think you should depend upon cannabis to control anxiety.Secondly, smoking cannabis can cause lung diseases. In the initial stages, the damage is reversible and the body heals if smoking is stopped. But in later stages, all of the damage cannot be undone. In my opinion, you should quit as soon as possible and look for other methods to control anxiety.

Best wishes.
