Why Is My Daughter's Tongue Hurting?

Hey, my 3 year old daughter has been complaining since Wednesday that her tongue was hurting. She will not eat anything and she hasn't ate in 4 days, today makes day 5. I am very concerned about this. My mama took her to the doctor on Friday and they swabbed her for strep and that was negative. She has a white patch on the roof of her mouth. I'm not sure what to do or what it could be?

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query, the pain in the tongue could be because of an ulcer or fungal infection, even the white patch on the palate could be because of fungal infection...consult a oral physician to rule out the above said conditions,..you can use topical anesthetic and analgesic and antifungal agents.. gargle with warm saline..i hope my answer will help you..take care..
