Why Is A 4 Year Old Having Dark Veins From Chin To Chest And Fever?

Hi, my husband is worried about our 4 year olds neck veins. They are very dark running from under his chin down to his chest. He has been running a fever today the highest being102.7. My husband swears the veins werent visible until now. Is there any reason to be concerned with the veins?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks and welcome to HCM .
Visible veins are not of concern.
Normally veins are visiblble in thin built children.
Control temperature with paracetamol and cold sponging.
If it is viral fever it passes off of its own.
Otherwise consult pediatrician to diagnose the cause of fever and it's management .
Hope this reply is OK for you.
Further queries invited.
