Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Nexpro is a medication used to reduce stomach acid level. Very likely your doctor thinks your horse voice is due to stomach acid reflux which might be irritating your vocal cords and he wants to reduce this effect by reducing the acidity of the content in the stomach. This is a good approach and worthy to be tried for some weeks and if no effect than your doctor might need to examine you again.

To help the effect of the drugs and reduce the reflux in your throat you can also try to have frequent small amounts of food during the day, avoid food or fluids 3-4 hours before bed time, and avoid alcohol, coffee or smoking.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
