Hi, my name is Jared. Two days ago I drank a lot of wine. The next morning I started to feel sick and had a bad headache with a high fever. Today everything feels fine but I ve been getting the chills. I m running fevers up to 101.8, can you please tell me what you thinks going on?

Hello,

You can have these presentations due to excess wine intake.

Symptomatic management can be done for that. For the next one week try to avoid alcohol intake and take it in a limited manner whenever you are drinking it.

For fever and headache, paracetamol can be prescribed. If no improvement next one to two days than CBC should be done for further work up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
