Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I was boxing with my personal trainer tonight and she had me throwing elbows. It didn t hurt at all when I was working out. But noticed a buise on my elbow at the end of my work out. By the time i got home, it got bigger. I iced it for 15 mins...and now my forearm and hand feel a little strange. Not really numb...but very fatigued feeling. I keep wanting to shake my hand to make it feel normal. Is this a problem???
Your training session has left you with this bruise over the elbow. Now the elbow has nerves running close to the joint. The injury and swelling has given a kind of shock to a nerve and this can leave you with a feeling of weakness for a while. Please continue icing and move the elbow gently. This should be temporary and you should be back in action soon.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. George Verghese, Orthopedic Surgeon
