Why Do I Always Have A Crackling Sensation In My Mouth?

Why do i always have a crackling sensaton in my mouth? Its been going on for bbput 5 months, and i always too scared to tell anyone.I was planning on telling, but it didnt have much of an effect except for the abnormal crackling. The only effect it had was that my ears and the upper part of my mouth felt weird, and would crackel it again to make it feel normal.Yes i am able to make it crackel, and i would usally try going on google. For this question. When i make it crackel,i usually feel its crackling sensation in my ear too. Also, when i have a headache from not sleeping well, when ever I crackel my mouth, the parts closest to my ears hurt alot.Ofcource it stops hurting when my head stop hurting.Im usually able to make it have the crackling sensation by will (im not sure how) but i do it to make my mouth or feel normal. It also crackels when i swollow. Please i would like to know whats going on,and if its something bad or,okay(scince, again other then what i said it doesnt seem too harmful)and what i can do to solve my condition.I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello,

Though the experience you are describing is quite unusual, it seems that you have acquired the habit of turning your tongue towards your palate in a way that causes such feelings and because you might be doing it repeatedly, your muscles get tired causing earache and headache.

As it is not happening involuntarily and it is totally up to you to cause that feeling, there seems no other explanation. It may not cause any severe harm other then annoyance after a while and muscle fatigue. So you can consciously try not to cause the sensation.

However, if it starts happening involuntarily and associated with painful burning sensation, you should visit your dentist to check for burning mouth syndrome.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Let me know if you have follow up questions.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
