Why Do I Sometimes Get Sharp Pain On Left Side Of My Chest With Difficulty In Breathing?
I've been having share pains on the left side of my chest for years. It'll be a sharp pain making it uncomfortable to breathe inhale and exhale for a couple of seconds and then it goes away. I've noticed over the last few months that I get the pains when I laugh hard. However its happened before even when I didn't laugh.
Hi. From your history the pain in the chest looks to be due to swelling of the joints between the ribs and mid-line bone of chest called sternum ( costo-chondral joints) . On a safer side it is always better to have one ECG and X-ray chest to see there is no other bothersome ( serious ) problem .
