Why Do I Have Muscle Pull In My Lower Belly/abdomen

Why do I have muscle pull in my lower belly/abdomen every time I do any abdominal exercises (crunches, jumping jacks, sit ups, twists, leg raises)? I have been to the hospital and they did not find anything. The doctor prescribed muscle relaxing drugs and the pain disappeared but returned some days after completing the dosage.
