Why Are Gestofit And Duphaston Tablets Prescribed During Pregnancy?

Hallo dr. My wife 8 week pregnant now.. yesterday we did scan which shows tht fetal not grow as per normal.. Our dr. Says fetal seen like 6 weeks only .. so dr . Prescribed Duphaton 10 mg tab .. 3 tabs /day Gestofit 200 mg ... 1 tab /day Folizorb 1 tab daily... (all medicine for 15 days) Dr. Says we will see scan again after 15 days.. Plz suggest ur valuable consult. Thanking you

Hi,

To support pregnancy and prevent miscarriage. Gestofit 200 (progesterone) is a female sex hormone prescribed for maintenance of early pregnancy associated with progesterone deficiency. Duphaston (dydrogesterone) which has a similar action to progesterone prescribed to reduce the risk of miscarriages or abortions. Folizorb contains calcium, folic acid and vitamin B12 normally required during pregnancy. They are quite safe, so continue taking them as prescribed by your doctor.
