Why Am I Feeling Air Bubble In My Left Chest?

Hi, I am 24 years old, non smoker, female. 3days ago, I started to feel air bubble in my left chest ( between 2nd and 3rd rib, not lateral part, just close to sternum). I am also a junior doctor and so I auscultate myself and I found out that at the end of deep inspiration, I heard musical sound like rhonchi, not sure though. But it doesn t happen all the time, but often. For the past medical history, I took anti TB last year. What can it be? Please reply me. I am worried!

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done CT thorax to rule out fibrosis or bronchiectesis.
You had tuberculosis and taken treatment for the same. So your lung lesions must be healed. In TB healing can occur by either of the following.
1. Fibrosis
2. Calcification
3. Bronchiectesis
4. Rarely complete resolution.
Fibrosis is the common way of healing. And in post tubercular fibrosis, many times spasm develops and may give rhonchi on auscultation.
Bronchiectesis can also cause localised wheezing and rhonchi after healing.
So CT thorax is needed to rule out these possibilities.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
