Why Am I Having Headache?

I have a soft smooth spot right at the temple. The hair fell out, but grew back extemly coarse. I do have mild headaches, but I suffer from allergies which makes it hard for me to distinguish what causes the headaches. Does this sound like something I should be concerned about?

Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that it may be just a tension type headache.

Nevertheless, a skin allergy or skin disorder can not be excluded, especially taking into account the hair fall in this region.

I recommend consulting with your doctor for a careful physical exam and some lab tests (complete blood count, inflammation tests).

Some allergy tests may be helpful, although an allergic reaction only in this point would be something exceptional.

It doesn't seem to be anything serious.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Aida
