Why HCG Pregnancy Test Is Positive While Ultrasound Is Not Showing Any Sac?

hi my age is 24 years old and its my first pregnancy. i miss my monthly periods last month(20 june 2014) so i decided to do a urine test in home later on it showed negative(only 1 pink line) after 4 weeks i consult to doctor, she suggest me to go for ultrasound and a test of beta hcg. In beta hcg test my pregnancy test is positive but there was no sac showing in ultrasound. so we did urine test again and same it shows only 1 pink line... please help me

Hello..After going through your problem, let me clarify something to you..Beta HCG level in blood is qualitative ,more accurate test but to confirm a pregnancy there are specific levels of it, pertaining to the assumed period of gestation/pregnancy. Since you havent told the level of beta hcg that came in your bllod test i am texting you the refrence range,you can check it:
3 weeks since LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks since LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks since LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks since LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 – 8 weeks since LMP: 7,650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 – 12 weeks since LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 – 16 weeks since LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/m

Now if your value falls according to this chart, than wait for some weeks and go for a dating scan , if your value doent fall in this category than for precautionary sake go for atransvaginal scan to rule out any sac not transabdominal scan
