Which Eye Drops Can Be Used To Cure Red Eyes In Child?

My 4 year old daughter's 1 eye is red....we just noticed it few hours ago. I have some perscription steroid eye drops that I got for my eye infection recently. Is it safe to give her those eye drops? And do we need to take her to the doctor or wait few days to see if it gets better or worse?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that your 4 year old daughter is having red eyes.
Steroid eye drops are better to be avoided as they worsen bacterial infections.
The treatment depends on the cause and the causes are infections and allergies. As of now you can start using antibiotic eye drops but require examination by a ophthalmologist to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
