Which Doctor Treats Bipolar Disorder?

What type of Doctor treats BI polar issues? Certainly not your primary as I have felt that he is somewhat uneducated in this field. I have always been somewhat OC for most of my life. My Father, My Aunt and great uncle (all on my Fathers side have been diagnosed with borderline personally disorder or out and out Bipolar. I realize that I am having the same symptons that I have ignored over the years. But becoming glaringly terrifying within the past many months.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Thank you for your query.

A psychiatrist or a behavioral therapist would treat Bipolar disorders (BPD)
I 'm glad that you have the awareness to notice your symptoms and seek help.
Please make sure you find a good psychiatrist and have a treatment plan. you and family members should also know what to expect (in the course of BPD and effects of medication).
Make an informed decision about your treatment as the side effects may interfere with your routine life and this may lead to improper treatment. Hope this answers your query. Please let me know if this has been helpful.

Wish you good health. please get back to us for any further queries
