When Should The Pregnancy Be Retested For Confirmation?

I got a positive on a hpt on day 30 of my cycle (cycle varies from 28-38 days). On day 35-36 I have bled for just two days - a lot shorter than my period. Thee has been bright red blood. No pain or cramps. I retook hpt on day 36 which is now negative? I m not sure if I am still pregnant? Or when to test?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Since your cycle has a variation of ten days, the ovulation dates also vary accordingly, the earliest being day 14 and the farthest being day 24. Also, home pregnancy tests read well 3 weeks after ovulation. The implantation bleeding may be seen two weeks after ovulation, at about the time of the expected period. Since you had a positive test followed by bleeding and then a negative test, either the earlier test should be an error or the later one. This is because even after an abortion, pregnancy test remains positive for some time. So, in the current scenario, please go for the blood test followed by a trans-vaginal sonogram to clarify the situation. Hope this helps.
