When Is Swimming Safe After A Laparotomy?

I has a mini laparotomy to retrive parts of ny gall bladder after it split when being removed by laparoscopy. The surgery was 3.5 weeks ago I was told I could start back on my 6km walks after 4 weeks and doing core engaging exercises after 6 weeks. When can I start some gentle swimming ?

Hello!
The complete healing process is up to 1 year, but it doesn't mean you can first swimm after a year. The wound healing depends on age, comorbidity, and body constructure. Some gentle sport and not exhausting exercises support the wound healing too. Remember if you start, please do it for short times and stopp it immediately if it pains. Remember also to control it regular.
