When Is Best Time To Get Pregnant During The Menstruation Cycle?

Yes I'm trying to get pregnant, I just turned 40, my period usually last 6 to 8 days , now it dropped to 4 to 5 days. I'm taking clomed and prenatal vitamins to help the process, I'm just clueless, knocked I'm done with my period to have sex? Last month I came on and I went to doctor, my follicles were open, and if and my sex partner had sex two weeks after my period. Did I miss my chance on getting pregnant, will this time hopefully I get pregnant?

Hello,
Having your period every month (or with the same frequency you have always had), is a sign that your ovaries are producing enough hormones to cause menstruation.
What happens more rarely with the age, is ovulation which means in one of the days 10-20 after first day menstrual cycle the egg from one of your ovaries will be ready, and so on these days woman are more prone to get pregnant.
In the ovulation day the body temperature gets 0,5 Celsius higher, which is one way to know that its happening, but the more certain way is to try during those days.
Your follicles being open is a sign that even if the chance of getting pregnant is lower as when you were to a younger age, it is still possible.
Keep trying, and don't lose hope.
