When Does Bleeding Start After Taking Mifepristone And Misoprostol?

Hello Doctor. My wife took 200 mg of mifepristone on May 30 followed by 200 mg of misoprostol on June 1. She is to take four misoprostol tablets more. She is in the elementary stage of pregnancy. No signs of bleeding so far. Is the medicine not working. She is quite worried. Pls advise. My wife is 38 yrs, 5 ft, 50 kg.

Understand your concern
Medical termination of pregnancy should be done under surveillance of gynecologist after confirming intrauterine pregnancy of less than 9 week. Bleeding will start after 30 minutes of using correct treatment. Bleeding will not come after using only one tablet of misoprostol. You have to take 400 ug misoprostol after 24 hour of using mifeprsitone. Another 400 ug under observation of gynecologist if no induced bleeding. So consult the gynecologist and take the full course of medicine. Dose and schedule can be modified by gynecologist. Post abortion USG after 14 day should be done for safe practice to confirm retain bits of products
