When Do Periods Begin After Stopping Regestrone?

My menstrual period was 20 days once .I consult doctor she advices to take regestrone once a day from 16 the day anwards I took 6 tablets I had some side effects so I was stopped . One week before I stopped till now am not get period . Please give suggestions me

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Usually after completing a course of progesterone you should get your period within 7 days.

It's possible that 5 days of progesterone wasn't enough for you. Have you checked a pregnancy test? If you're pregnant the progesterone won't bring on your period. Also possible that your lining is thin and your uterus has nothing to shed. You may need to contact your physician.
