When Can Progesterone Therapy Stopped In An IVF Pregnancy?

I am at 16 weeks and I m IVF pregnant , I am taking dyuphstone twice daily , cyclogest supp and inohep injection till now I would like to know when I can stop those therapies ( progesterones ) ? Specially if my pregnancy is going well now as I m worry about side effects and that medicine may affect my unborn baby

Hello !congratulations on your pregnancy !progesterone is supports pregnancy by quietening the uterus and hence protecting against preterm labour .it is used till the 28 th week of pregnancy routinely in IVF pregnancies and sometimes upto 34-36 weeks depending on the other risk factors that might predispose to preterm delivery and also on the competence of the neonatal care unit attached with the maternity unit.progesterone is a natural hormone formed by the placenta and ovaries in a natural pregnancy and therefore you could put all your fears regarding its side effects at bay.heparin injection is stopped at 34weeks of pregnancy .it is used in
pregnancy to help the placenta give better support to your baby.it also has a certain protection against pregnancy complications like high blood pressure and peterm labour .
