Whats Causing Faster Heart Rate, Brief Throbbing Pain In The Left Side And Recurring Pain In The Left Head?

Hello, first off I have been to the ER twice and to my GP once in relation to my issues. More than two years ago I became aware of my heart rate as if was beating quite fast but for no good reason. I went to the ER that day and I was given an EKG. They gave me some meds to bring my heart rate down and diagnosed me with palpitations Then I was sent home. Since then I've had the same thing happen to me countless times. I had a pre employment physical 8 months ago and the PA told me my blood pressure was very high and dangerously so. She warned me that I was too young to have a stroke. She wanted me to get a followup visit with my GP which I didn't do initially. I didn't have insurance yet of course. (Preemployment). Before I went to the GP I had an episode at the grocery store where it felt like my heart had just been squeezed very tightly. It happened a couple times while shopping and I d enough so I went to the ER. I had a chest xray, bloodwork, and an EKG and all came back normal. The doc said whatever my chest pains were they were not my heart or lungs. To mention the info I am a 230 lb male aged 30.. my resting hear rate is in the mid 60's (measured after sitting for about 10 minutes). I would do it when I first wake up but its usually running fast when I awake for whatever reason. What I don't understand is I am nearly always aware of my heart rythmn but I don't know why. I get brief throbs of pain in my left pec. I sometimes have very brief dizzy spells and I have a recurring pain on the left side of my head. (The head pain does not seem to be on an artery or vein though bit close to it. The doctors say Imbfine but I don't feel fine. I find it is becoming rarer and rarer that I feel "normal" and it sucks. My quality of life is diminishing and my thing to do when stuff flakes up is to go to sleep so I know Imt rest and not working myself up about stuff. My apologies this was so long!

Hi, I went through your query. Your dizzy spells and headaches are probably due to your high blood pressure. Again high blood pressure is an important risk for ischaemia of heart which could be responsible for your chest pain. Since your ECG is normal I would advise you a treadmill test to rule out ischaemia. If that turns out to be normal your chest pain could be due to gastroesophageal reflux too. You should also keep your blood pressure strictly under control with lifestyle modification including diet and exercise as well as medicines. Hope this helps.
